Design Process

Today is friday the 28th October and I am well underway in creating my cocktail dress. The theme is Russian Icons and Africa- these are two very large concepts that I am putting into one small dress. I have chosen to focus on African tribal masks as my main influence from Africa which creates a raw and naieve feeling. Russian icons are opulent and powerful. I have chosen to design gold arches in the skirt which is heavily beaded - this creates a rich couture look. I also have beaded leather cross's to represent the icons in my design.
